ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 Oldest and Youngest Squad

The 12th Edition of ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 is on its way to start from 30th May, 2019 to 14th July, 2019 in England and Wales. Ten participating teams have announced their 15-man squad for the world cup 2019. All the teams can do changing in their squads until 23 May without the permission of ICC, after that they have to request to ICC to make changes in 15-man squad. All teams have mixture of experienced and young players. The 50 over world cup’s format is same as to world cup 1992. Experienced players are the backbone for the squads and young players have to prove their ability and skills by their performance.
Oldest Squad: Sri Lankan squad is the oldest squad with an average of 29.9 in this world cup 2019. Fast bowler Suranga Lakmal is 32 years old and Lasith Malinga is 35 years old. Former captain Angelo Mathews is turned to 31 now. Another 36 years old player Jeevan Mendis who has not played an ODI since 2015 is also in the squad for the world cup. Host England and South Africa are both in the list with an average of 29.5. South African squad has the oldest player Imran Tahir who is 40 years old now. Other players for South Africa are Dale Steyn 35 years old and Hashim Amla 36 years old. Eoin Morgan is 32 years old for England. Australia is also closer to England and South Africa with an average of 29.4. Shaun Marsh is 35 years old, Aaron Finch and David Warner both are 32 years old in Australian squad.

Youngest Squad: Pakistan has the youngest squad in cricket world cup 2019 with an average of 27.3. Shaheen Shah Afridi who took 19 wickets in 10 ODI matches and Muhammad Hasnain who made his ODI debut against Australia in March 2019 are both 19 years old to represent their country in this big event. Afghanistan is the second youngest team in this tournament with an average of 27.4.

20 years old Rashid Khan who is No.1 ranked T20 bowler and NO.3 ranked ODI bowler and spinner Mujeeb Ur Rahman who is 18 years oldare in the Afghanistan squad. Mujeeb Ur Rahman will be the youngest player in this tournament. Both Pakistan and Afghanistan have lots of young talent in their squad.
