Match Officials for ICC Cricket World Cup 2019

International Cricket Council has announced the names of 22 match officials for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 in England and Wales. The match officials’ panel is consisted of 16 umpires and 6 match referees for all the 48 matches. These match officials are announced for the group matches, after the group matches ICC will announce the match officials for semi-finals and then after semi-finals, ICC will announce the match officials for the final match.
Ian Gould will participate in his fourth and last world cup because he has announced his retirement after this world cup 2019. “Ian has made an outstanding contribution to the game over a long period, particularly in the last decade as an international umpire for the ICC,” said ICC General Manager – Cricket, Geoff Allardice. Three world cup winners are also in the list which are Kumar Dharmasena in world cup in 1996 for Sri Lanka, Australian Paul Reiffel in world cup 1999 and David Boon in world cup 1987 for Australia. Umpire Aleem Dar will officiating in his fifth world cup. The most experienced match referee, Ranjan Madugalle will participate in his seventh world cup and Chris Broad and Jeff Crowe will be there in their fourth world cup. Sundaram Ravi is one of the match officials from India.

For the opening match of the tournament between England and South Africa, David Boon will be match referee, Kumar Dharmasena and Bruce Oxenford will be on-field umpires, Paul Reiffel will be third umpire and Joel Wilson the fourth official.
