Semi Finals Prediction for 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup

Prediction for the 4 semifinalist teams of cricket world cup 2019

ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 is at the peak of its excitement. Every team is struggling hard to secure a place in the top 4 teams of the group to qualify for the semifinals. Defending champion Australia is the first team to qualify for the semifinals by gaining 12 points in their 7 matches, the only defeat to Australia is by India. South Africa and West Indies and Afghanistan are the teams which can’t qualify for the semifinals even by winning their remaining matches. The No.1 team in the group will face the No.4 team in the group while No.2 team in the group will face the No.3 team in the group for the semifinals.

Scenario for New Zealand:

New Zealand who defeated only from Pakistan till now has 11 points and they need only 1 match to win to seal their position for the semifinals. Their remaining two matches are against Australia and England, if they win one match then this will be enough for them to qualify for the semifinals. On the other hand, if New Zealand lose their remaining two matches and Pakistan win their remaining two matches then both teams will be equal with the points in the group and net run rate which is good for New Zealand will decide the qualifier. If Sri Lanka win their remaining three matches their points will be 12 and if New Zealand lose their remaining matches their points will be 11 that will be crucial for the New Zealand.

Scenario for England:

Host and tournament’s favorite team England is in trouble after defeated from Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Australia. England has 8 point in 7 matches and their remaining matches are against India and New Zealand which are toughest teams of the group. England need to win their remaining two matches to qualify for the semifinals, if England lost one match and Pakistan win their remaining two matches against Afghanistan and Bangladesh then Pakistan will qualify for the semifinals. The situation with the Sri Lanka is as follow, if both England and Sri Lanka win their remaining matches both will get 12 points and net run rate will decide the qualifier team.

Scenario for Pakistan:

Pakistan has brilliantly made their come back by defeating South Africa and the undefeatable team of the group New Zealand. The route for the Pakistan is simple, they need to win their remaining two matches against Afghanistan and Bangladesh and they also need to wait for the lose of one match of England and Sri Lanka. Because without the defeat of England and Sri Lanka it is not possible for the Pakistan to qualify for the semifinals even by winning their remaining two matches.

Scenario for Bangladesh:

Bangladesh has 7 points in 7 matches and need to win their remaining two matches against India and Pakistan but it also depends on the results of England’s matches same like the situation with Pakistan. If England win their remaining two matches, they will get 12 points while Bangladesh will get 11 points after winning remaining two matches that will not enough to qualify for the semifinals. They also depend on the matches of Sri Lanka because Sri Lanka can get 12 points after winning their remaining three matches.

Scenario for Sri Lanka:

Sri Lanka ha 6 points in 6 matches and they also have a chance to qualify for the semifinals by winning their remaining three matches against South Africa, West Indies and India. If Sri Lanka win all their remaining matches and England also win their remaining matches their points will be become equal to 12 and net run rate will decide which team will qualify for the semifinals. But if Sri Lanka win their remaining matches and England lose one match then Sri Lanka will qualify for the semifinals with the 12 points.

Scenario for India:

The way to qualify for the undefeatable Indian team is very easy. They only need to win their one match out of three that are against England, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. No difficulty for the Indian team because they are in good position in the group. If they lose their remaining three matches and Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh win all their remaining matches then situation will be different.
